Obituary of Charles Harold English
Charles Harold English was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He transitioned to eternal bliss on April 3, 2021.
Charles was born to the late Thomas English Jr. and Irine (Cooper) English on December 29, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was the fourth of seven children.
He graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1966. After high school, he played college football in Kansas, he then attended Eastern Michigan University, and received his Bachelor’s degree from Northwood University. He served three years in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. In 2012, he retired from Kellogg’s Company after 30 years of service.
We have extremely fond memories of him that we cherish dearly. Charles loved cars, sports, reggae music, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and discussing politics.
Charles leaves behind three daughters: Lynsey Marie (Atlanta, GA), Zulekha Iman (Michigan City, IN), and Ebony Ayesha (Philadelphia, PA). He also leaves behind one granddaughter: Ruby Anandi.
In addition, he is survived by his siblings: Beverly English (Chicago, IL), Donald (Arlena) English (Battle Creek, MI), Florence Andrews (Battle Creek, MI), and Ernest (Kim) English (Battle Creek, MI) along with one niece, several nephews, cousins and special friends Darryl Flood and Wendy Wilkerson.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Irine English and his brothers Thomas (Sonny) English III and Robert English.
