Obituary of Frederick Joseph Sharp

Frederick Joseph Sharp (Dink, Fred, Elroy Jetson) was born on July 7, 1990 to Paul Lee and Frederica Sharp in Kalamazoo Michigan. As a child Fred had a vibrant personality. At the age of seven he had a life changing traumatic injury, but he never let that hold him down. He attended the Battle Creek Public School System. For elementary he attended Washington and Urbandale schools. As a little kid he looked up to his big brother Paul and wanted to do everything he did. He loved sports and participated in many of them. In elementary he participated in the Punt, Pass and Kick NFL competition where he won the area championship for many years in a row. In addition to the competition Fred played baseball, and was on the North Western Middle School’s football, basketball and swimming teams. Fred attended Battle Creek Central High School and was determined to do well in his classes; despite having major reconstructive surgery and being homebound for half of his sophomore year. He graduated part of the class of 2008. He attended First Pentecostal Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Elmer Hess Sr. and Co-Pastor Elmer Hess Jr. Fred had a contagious smile with dimples that would brighten up any room. He was a friend to many, and people would describe him as a cool guy loved by all. His sense of humor would bring a smile to many faces. After high school he attended and received several accreditations and certifications from Michigan Career Technical Institute in the marketing field. Fred held various positions. His most recent employment was with the Circuit Court Probation department and Mercedes Benz of Music City as an Executive Driver; before experiencing several major medical setbacks limiting his mobility. In his adult years Fred joined New Harvest Christian Center under the leadership of Pastors Ivan and Tina Lee. Fred was full of tenacity and nobody could get the best of him. Traveling was also a passion Fred had. He would hop on the highway or on a plane and go all over the United States. Fred loved his family dearly and although he moved away from Michigan, he would stay in contact with his everyone and often play virtual games with his father. He also loved children and you would often see him tap into his childhood self when around his little cousins or godchildren. Fred departed from this life unexpectedly on Monday, March 22, 2021 in Indianapolis Indiana. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Paul L. Sharp II, maternal grand partners Delores (Willie) Lewis, Fred Mahone, paternal grandmother Josephine Guy-Baldwin, aunts Donna Shelton-Vonner, Karen Shelton-Ware, Freddie Mae Pilgrim and Pastor Donna M.
