Obituary of Elly Ignatia Lyn Edwards

Our sweet angel Elly Ignatia Lyn (McCarty) Edwards, (Ell Bell), 27, of Kalamazoo, MI was called home unexpectedly on 02/11/2021.Elly was born on May 5,1993 in Kalamazoo,MI to loving parents Nicholas McCarty and Renee Hunter. Elly married her best friend Walter Thomas Edwards II on 07/17/2017. Elly is survived by her Nana Ingatia(Pancone) McCarty, Grandfather Errol Hunter , Grandmother Lynda(Charles) Roscoe, Brothers Matt Sparks ,Nicholas(Sabrina) Mccarty, Liam(Heather) McCarty, Joshua Roscoe, John McCarty and sister Sarah Sparks, Maria McCarty. Elly is also survived by Mother in Law RuthAnn Crill, father in law Allen Crill, sisters in law and friends Tina Minor, Tammy Santman (sister-wife), Shalise and Shayla Edwards. Elly also had a very special friendship with Jacquelyn, Amanda, Kiola, Alishia and 2 very special little girls Sah’ma and Maloni who Elly considered to be like her daughters and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elly was preceded in death by her papa Lawrence J McCarty, Brendan McCarty and Aunt Catherine Shoemaker. Elly was great at her job, because she had a kind heart and loved helping people. She enjoyed hanging out with her family and extended family. She enjoyed Bowling, BBQ’s, bonfires, and just hanging out. To know Elly is to know she loved her little sister and brother, when you saw her you would always know they were right behind her. Elly enjoyed hanging out with friends. Her favorite color was purple. She loved animals. Most importantly she loved her best friend and husband Walter. They were each other's rock. Walter said “she was an Angel and now she has her wings”. Elly will be missed dearly by so many. She will be remembered for her laughter, big smile and kind heart. The Family will be welcome, friends to a celebration of Life on February, 20 at 3:30 pm to 10 pm at Sugar Bowl at 904 Washington Kalamazoo, MI 49001. We will have a buffet. Due to Covid-19 we are asking people to come in moderation. We will follow all state covid guidelines and rules. Sorry for any inconveniences .
