Obituary of Tracy Alen Gum, Sr.

Tracy A. Gum Sr. departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on August 9, 1968 in Joliet, Illinois to his parents, Ina R. and Dennis R. Gum, Sr. In 1972 Tracy moved to Kalamazoo, MI with his mom and after a few years when his father return from serving overseas in Germany, Tracy moved back to Illinois to live with his father and attended and graduated from Quincy Senior High School. He enlisted in the Armed Forces and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Tracy was a jack of many trades; he worked in the restaurant industry, and in retail. He also worked as a machine operator and a truck driver. Tracy enjoyed many things in life, but his greatest joy was his family. Especially his children Rochelle, Tracy Jr., Desera, Crystal, Anastasia, and his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, playing video games, going on vacations, camping, having picnics and just being outdoors. Tracy leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, Rochelle (Mike) Dean, and Tracy A. Gum, Jr. both of Kalamazoo, MI., and Desera of Indiana; mother Ina Madigan of Kalamazoo, MI.; brothers: Dennis R. (Tammy) Gum, Jr. of Allegan Michigan, Leroy Beischl, Dan’l (Janet) Beischl both of Kalamazoo, MI., and Sebastian Gum; sisters Vera (Greg) Johnson, and Rainy (Mike) Conklin both of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren: Cheyenne, Lizelle, Charlie, Lyla, Ashley, Andrew, Dakota, Isabella, Angelica, Tracy III, Athena, and William; and step-grandchildren: Mikey, Pamela, Lisa, and Matthew, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Dennis R. Gum, Sr.; his two daughters Crystal R. Gum, and Anastasia M. Gum; stepfather Kenneth Madigan; three nephews: Brian J. Gum, Tyler W Beischl and Dylan Gum. Tracy Sr. will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
