Obituary of Scott Michelle McLeod

Scott (Smoke) M. Mcleod 55, of Battle Creek, departed this life on Dec. 22, 2020 at Bronson Hospital, Battle Creek, Mi. He was born March 9, 1965, in Inglewood, CA to Andrew Mcleod and Lola Ratliff-Mcleod of Hawthorne CA. Scott graduated from Locke High School, Los Angeles, CA. While he worked several jobs, he was a hard worker and his passion was cars. Scott married the love of his life Jerell S. (Riley) Mcleod, on February 21, 2008, and had 15 wonderful years with her. Scott leaves to forever cherish the memory of his sisters Rochelle R. Mcleod of Inglewood, CA, Cynthia D. Mcleod of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrea (Grayson) Shamblin of Battlefield, MI, a brother Andrew L. Mcleod of Atlanta, Georgia. Sisters in law Kimberly R. Riley, of Atlanta, GA and Sharon D. Riley, of Kalamazoo, Mi. He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine D. Mcleod, Grandparents Johnny Mcleod, Victoria Mcleod, Ella Rae Ratliff, and James Ratliff. Scott enjoyed restoring, detailing and selling cars, he was well known for the excellent job he did of bringing cars back to life. He was previously the owner of J & S Detail Shop here in Battle Creek, MI, at that time he was a member of the Crown Vic Boys Car Club out of Grand Rapids, MI. He was an active member of the Merc Crew Car Club here in Battle Creek, MI, were their car of choice was the Grand Marquis. He was a great provider, had a joyous personality, loved to joke around, he loved music and having fun. Scott loved his family he stayed in touch with everyone just to make sure they were doing ok. Although he departed this life, Scott will live in the heart of those who loved him. He is survived by his children Scottianna (Stafon) Howell of Morneo Valley CA, Scott (Azaziah) Mcleod of Redland, CA, JaJuan Mcleod of Rialto, CA, Nasir J. Mcleod, of Battle Creek, MI, Jai’Nise K. Mcleod, of Detroit, MI. Step children Shilaya N. Riley of Battle Creek, Mi. Rayionna R. Winans and Deon M. Garrett of Detroit, MI, 18 Grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
