Obituary of Calise Marette Denham
Calise went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2020 with her family by her side.
Calise was born on October 18, 1965 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Calise was the daughter of James and Iris ( Cookie) Denham. She attended and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. Calise was a cheerleader and very popular in school because of her beauty and genuine kindness and generosity for others. She continued her education at Davenport Junior College and Western Michigan University.
She was a beautiful person inside and out and would light up a room with her warm gentle smile, and she was loved by everyone who met her. Calise loved her family very much. One of the ways she showed her love was cooking up one of her amazing dishes as she was an excellent cook. She especially loved spending time with her only Grandchild, BJ. They enjoyed each other tremendously and would clean, cook, and shop together.
She always wanted to take care of everything; including putting up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving with BJ so that the family could enjoy the Christmas spirit. That was just like Calise to make sure everyone was taken care of and happy❤.
Although she battled cancer these past 5 years, Calise was a fighter. She didn’t let it slow her down and blessed many people while living her life. Calise knew Christ as her Lord and Savior and is now resting in Heavenly peace. She will be remembered and loved forever!
She is preceded in death by her Mom, Iris( Cookie) Denham; her younger Sister, Carmina Denham; and a host of aunties and uncles.
Surviving are her loving partner of 13 years, Hank Anderson; her Father, James Denham, Sr.; her only older Brother, James Denham, Jr.; 3 Sons: Brandon Denham, Brashawn Mill, and Antonio Denham; 1 Daughter, Malia Reason; her special Grandchild, Brandon( BJ) Denham, Jr.; Auntie Michelle Reason, all of Kalamazoo; her special Auntie Ruth (Angel) Reason of Maui Hawaii; and 5 nieces and nephews.
(We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:8)
