Obituary of Ruth Anna Smith

Ruth Anna Smith, of Vicksburg, Michigan went home to be with our LORD unexpectedly; yet, peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the age of 78. She was born to Harville and Leona (Kuenke) Campbell on October 29, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was united in marriage on June 18, 1960, to Carl Joseph Smith and soon began a family of 7 children. Ruth and Carl were married for 54 years. She was a grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and an aunt to several nieces and nephews. Ruth’s biggest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Angela (David) Wilson of Scotts, MI, Deborah Smith of Galesburg, MI, Carl “Sonny” (Jamie) Smith II of Jackson, MI, Karla (Bill) Vroman of Vicksburg, MI, Darla (Jack) Smith-McNett of Vicksburg, MI, Merton Smith of Vicksburg, MI and Wendy (Terry) Smith-Walker of Galesburg, MI. her siblings: Tom (Diane) Campbell, Marge Lamb, Francis Pennington, and Martha “Marty” Thompson, 20 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her: parents, beloved husband, a brother, 4 sisters, and a granddaughter. Due to Covid-19, a celebration of Ruth’s life will take place at a later date in 2021.
