Obituary of Michael Elijah Kinsey
Michael Elijah Kinsey departed this life on Thursday, October 1, 2020. He was born September 16, 1967 in Tallulah, LA to Mamie Kinsey-Johnson and Thomas Boyd. A handsome slender young man, Michael was fearless on the playground and a defender of all that he loved.
He graduated from Benton Harbor High school in 1985. He served in the Army National Guard for several years, and was a Certified Welder. In recent years Michael worked in service in the restaurant industry. Michael had a big heart full of love and angst, who loved his mother. He was a great kid, an avid domino player, he had a sarcastic sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed listening to music, drawing, helping others and hanging out with family, and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother Molly Lee Hall, his father Thomas Boyd and paternal grandmother Adel Boyd.
Left to cherish his memories is his mother and step-father Mamie and John Johnson of Kalamazoo, Mi. , Tonya Kinsey (ex-wife), Jaque Kinsey (son), Autumn Kinsey (daughter) Chase Kinsey (grand-son) of Benton Harbor, MI., brother Tony (Annette) Kinsey of Detroit, MI., sister Veda (T.J.) Hawkins of Lansing, MI. Also left to treasure his memories are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
