Obituary of Quedell Carter
Quedell Carter departed this life on September 27, 2020 at his home. Quedell was born on May 18, 1951, in Stuttgart Arkansas, the son of George and Mildred (McGhee) Carter. The family moved to Kalamazoo when Quedell was a young child.
Quedell attended school in Kalamazoo. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and studied at KVCC. He accepted Christ at an early age, and was a long time member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. Quedell loved singing, one of his favorite songs was “Have a Little Talk with Jesus.” Quedell worked various jobs in Food, Janitorial and Medical prior to becoming disabled. He joined the Army, but was unfortunately unable to proceed with a career in the Armed Services.
Quedell loved his family and friends, his brother Horace being one of his favorite people. Being partnered with Horace and winning a game of spades would often bring a big chuckle.
Quedell is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Carter, his brother, Carl Carter, three sisters Mable (Woodrow) Keown, Mary (Malachi) Buchannan, and Louise Daniels, one sister-in-Law Ruby Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Horace Carter, sisters, Ollie Carter, Rosie Woods, and Lidie Jordan, all of Kalamazoo. He also had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
