Obituary of Aaron D. Richardson

Aaron Demetrius Richardson at age 60 passed June 11,2020 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Aaron Demetrius Richardson, affectionately known as Demetrius or “Meat” to family and friends,was born on May 8, 1960 in East Chicago, Indianato parentsAaron Richardson Jr. and Mary Lee Richardson. Aaron accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and serving in the Lord’s church. He had a distinct tenor voice and served as the Mt. Hermon Combined Choir Director. He is known for his rendition of the song “Jesus is Mine,” recorded by Florida Mass. Immediately following his graduation from Hammond High school, Aaron went to the United States Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge and return from the military, he gained his CDL license and begun a career in transportation. Aaron moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1999, where he continued his career. Aaron is preceded in death by parents Aaron and Mary Richardson, and brother Don L. Richardson. Aaron is survived by his wife Cheryl Casey-Richardson, daughter Hailey Hannon, grandson Kendal Hannon, stepson Darrahyl (Allison Haley)Brown and children Winston, Stella, and Aleyah Brown. Aaron will be greatly missed by his siblings Cynthia Sampson, Lorraine James, Valerie Price, Roslyn (James) Larmore, and Carl (Melanie) Richardson; God-children Cedric Price Jr., and Czaria Freeman. He will be deeply missed by his beloved cousins (bonus siblings) Michael Diggs, Corey Diggs, Emogene Hicks, Vetra Williams, Yolanda Steele, Diane Rogers, and a host of nieces and nephews. Aaron was a great family man, loving father, brother, uncle and cousin. He enjoyed life, jazz music, and dancing. His family and friends will always remember him as a lively and loving person with a huge bright smile, who gave out the tightest hugs and expressions of his love.
