Obituary of Ruby Del Willis

A beloved mother. Mrs. Ruby Del Willis, born Ruby Del Davis on February 2, 1936, departed this life to be with her heavenly father on July 7, 2020. She was born in Hughes, Arkansas to Walter and Sara Davis and had two sisters: Jessie Lee Ween and Loreen Davis. Ruby would go on to be married at the age of sixteen to Johnny Graham and from that union would have 3 children. Her second marriage would be to Julious A. Clark and five children came from this union. Ruby would have three more children in the years to come. Family was everything to Ruby. Ruby moved to Battle Creek, Michigan around 1968, where she would work many jobs but would eventually work for Leila hospital and retire after sixteen years of service in housekeeping. After her retirement she decided to go back to work for a short time at Cherry Hill Manor in food service. There she would meet her current husband Don Willis, or “Mr. Don,” as he was known. She gave her life to Christ in the 1980’s and would become a member of First Pentecostal Family Worship Center, Under the Pastoral ship of Elder Elmer Hess, Sr. She was honored to be apart of this ministry and eventually became a mother of the church and was known as “Mother Ruby.” This would be her church home until present day. She was extremely outgoing. Not only did she love and support her family, but she had a godly compassion for anyone that God placed in her path. Ruby had an open-door policy. She shared her home with all who needed a place to stay and her table fed many. She loved to cook and to feed people. One of her hobbies was fishing and she loved to eat fried fish! She also loved to shop and dress up with a good wig and some earbobs! Ruby enjoyed and embraced life in-spite of her health challenges. She lived her life with grace and in peace, largely because of her belief in God and love for her family. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Sara Davis, her sisters Jessie lee Ween and Loreen Davis. Her Husband Don Willis, her daughters: Marie Gregory “Graham”, Margie and Patricia Clark and her sons Johnny Graham and Calvin Clark and a grandson John Wesley Graham. She is survived by her daughters: Malinda Graham, Dyeanne and Brenda Clark, Malinda Johnson, Melicia Holley and a son Jimmy Graham. She leaves to cherish in memory 31 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren (and one due this summer) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
