Obituary of Jeanine Denise Taylor

Jeanine Denise Taylor (56) was born December 12, 1963 in Benton Harbor, MI to Lou Frances Johnson and the late Henry Edward Taylor. Jeanine moved to Battle Creek, MI at an early age and attended Battle Creek Public Schools until she graduated in 1982. While attending Battle Creek Central she was involved in the band where she loved to play the violin and joined the United States Army Reserve where she served from September 1981 to July 1983. After graduating from Central, Jeanine attended Kellogg Community College where she obtained an Associate’s degree in early childhood education. She worked in the childcare field before spending many years working at Felpausch where she became known as Lady Felpausch. She later became a nursing assistant at the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Medical Center where she worked for 14 years before medically retiring. Jeanine was known for her smile, sense of humor, compassion and willingness to help anyone. Every where she went, she proudly talked about her children and her grandbrats. Jeanine was a avid shopper whom loved to coordinate and get all dressed up. Jeanine departed this life on June 15, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She leaves behind to mourn her children: Chaquita McGee of Allen, TX, Keishana Taylor and Andreus Mcgee of Battle Creek, MI, her grandbrats: Aviona, Camarion, Camiyah, Andrea, Coryion, A’Kariona, Camille, Ca’lena, Cerina, J’Onna, August and Jayla. Sister Sanna Taylor of Battle Creek, MI; Brothers: Brian Johnson, Howard Johnson of Indianapolis, IN and Timothy Reyes of Omaha, Nebraska; Mother: Lou Frances Johnson of Battle Creek, MI; Special Nieces/Nephews: Tanisha Moore, Atiba Taylor, Depreise Taylor and Sandra Coats all of Battle Creek, MI; Adopted Daughter: Keionna Asberry and God Son Derrick Brown Sr. both of Kalamazoo, MI. Jeanine also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who became more like family. Jeanine was preceded in death by her Father Henry Taylor, her Brother Loval Hayden, Step-Father Howard Johnson Sr., Uncles Louis Hayden and Ottie Snipe Sr, and her Aunt Maurine Branscumb.
