Obituary of Travontae Dravell Lee Brown

Travontae Brown, Born September 14, 1996 in Kalamazoo, MI. He touched so many lives during his 23 years on this earth. He was loved by two Mother’s Tamica Cohn of Toledo, OH and Regina Brown (Deceased) of Kalamazoo, MI and two Father’s Clarence McFerrin Jr. (Deceased) and Ernest Brown both of Kalamazoo, MI. Travontae unexpectedly departed this life, Thursday May 14, 2020. Vontae was active in church at a very early age. He attended Sunday school every Sunday at Power House C.O.G.I.C. He was later baptized at First United Baptist Church as a teenager where he worked with the youth. Vontae was an Entrepreneur, Community Activist, and all around leader. His current Employment was at Metro by T-Mobile where he was known as the Top Sales Associate. In 2017, he was a Youth Counselor at Lakeside Academy. Vontae had a love for basketball; he would go to Lacorne and play with anyone who was willing to compete. He had a passion for making music. He was featured on several hit records, videos, as well as his own albums that was released. Vontae was an activist of the NAACP, and the Northside Ministerial Alliance. Vontae was currently enrolled in school at Kalamazoo Valley Community College where his studies was Communication, and Business. His plans was to Transfer to Western Michigan University Fall 2020. He attended Kalamazoo Public Schools, and received his high school Diploma from Phoenix High School, June 2016. Vontae leaves behind his long-term Girlfriend and Mother of his Children, in which he had a loving relationship with; Cherish Davis of Kalamazoo, MI. Two Children, Harmony and Melody Brown all of Kalamazoo, MI. 1 Great Grandmother Henrietta Cohn of Benton Harbor, MI 1 Grandfather Edward Thomas of Benton Harbor, MI 3 Grandmother’s Jennifer Cohn, Christine (David) Thurmond, and Adail McFerrin all of Kalamazoo, MI. 9 Sisters, Samara Howell of Orlando, Fl. Jamila McFerrin, Charquaron McFerrin, Tomisha Brown, Tomiko Leflore, Tyra Mitchell, Andrea (Corey) Simpson, Jasmine Brown all of Kalamazoo, MI, and Tazu Reed of Detroit, MI. 9 Brother’s Tyquincy McFerrin, Ardriques McFerrin, Clarence McFerrin III, Charm McFerrin, Jamar McFerrin, Ce’juwon McFerrin, Ce’von McFerrin, Tajzahn Brown, All of Kalamazoo, MI and Mack (Kiara) Booker of Jackson, MI. 53 Nieces and Nephews and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. He was preceded in death by 1 Great Grandfather Andrew Cohn, 2 Grandfather’s Clarence McFerrin SR. and Charles O’Neal Sr. 1 Great-Grandmother Mollie Weatherspoon, 1 Grandmother Willie Mae O’Neal, 1 Brother Aarin Fultz and 1 Sister Ernesha Brown.
