Obituary of Rose Marie Stewart

Rose Marie Stewart entered this world on January 15,1932. Born to Mattie Gould. Her mother proceeded Rose in death in 1935. While Rose was still very young. She was raised by her grandparents,Wallace and Lee Gould of Indianapolis,Indiana. She attended Crispus Attucks high school. Rose worked in the Hospitality field. She moved to Battle Creek,Michigan. Where she worked at Community Hospital. She later married Mr.Jack Polk and they moved to Kalamazoo,Michigan. She also had two lovely daughters,Harriett Stewart Robinson of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Kimela Stewart of Haslett, Michigan. Mother later was employed at Hampton Inn(Hilton Inc.) . Where she won the employee of the year award. Rose truly loved people. She always wanted to make them smile. She was quite the comedian, as well a connoisseur of sweets. She really loved cakes and candy. Oh,yes gum also. She loved the Lord. She became a member of New Life Fellowship cogic. Where she gave her life to the Lord. Under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Jesse T. Herron and first Lady Brenda Herron. She was very active in service. She participated and worked in the church. Mother departed this life at the age of 88 years young on Monday May 11,2020 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo Nursing home with her Kindred care hospice nurse Kate holding her hand. She also leaves to witness her Homegoing and cherish her memory: Harriett and Kimela her two daughters and their families. Rose had five grandchildren,thirteen great grand children,three great great great grandchildren. Two beloved sisters Mrs Ella Mae Polk of Indianapolis,Indiana,Mrs Hellen Norfleet (deceased) of Louisville,Kentucky. A special friend Mrs F. White of Delanco, New Jersey. A host of nephews,nieces,church members and neighbors and friends. We will miss Mother's whit ,spice and spark.
