Obituary of Sherry Lee West Knight

Sherry passed Sunday March 15, 2020 she was born June 11, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri. Daughter of Odessa Robinson West and Lieutenant West. Sherry graduated from Kalamazoo Adult Education, She was then joined in marriage to Tommy Knight on June 26, 1999. She worked for Kalamazoo Public Schools for 19 years as paraprofessional. Sherry enjoyed nurturing and planting flowers, playing bingo, listening to “oldies and Goodies”, spending time with family and just genuinely making people laugh. She was preceded in death by her mother, Odessa Robinson West, her father Lieutenant West, sister Perley Mae Robinson Thomas, brother Larry LaDon West and brother, Lieutenant (Lt) Chuckie West. Sherry leave to cherish her memory: Her loving husband Tommy Knight, Her children , Gene (Shawn) West, Ladessa West, Johnny West and Tommy Knight Jr. siblings; Rose and Dwight Trice, Stan West, Sylvia West Wilson, Patricia West, Carolyn West Guarjardo, Willie and Gwen West, Denise West, 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her special long time friends Yvonne Reese and Ruby Pratt along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 2020-11 Temporary prohibition on large assemblages and events, Rescission of Executive Order 2020-5 Acting under the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and Michigan law: Beginning on March 17, 2020 at 9:00 am, and continuing through April 5, 2020 at 5:00 pm, all assemblages of more than 50 people in a single indoor shared space and all events of more than 50 people are prohibited in the state of Michigan. Any single indoor shared space includes but is not limited to a room, hall, cafeteria, auditorium, theater, or gallery. This complies with recent CDC guidelines. Consistent with MCL 10.33 and MCL 30.405(3), a willful violation of this order shall constitute a misdemeanor. In conjunction with executive order Whitley Memorial Funeral will only permitted 50 persons (including children and teenagers) into its facility for any business transactions, memorial service or funeral service.
