Obituary of Mike Zamojski

Mike “Senior” Zamojski (December 23, 1951 – March 9, 2020) Mike Zamojski, 68, of Mattawan, MI passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice surrounded by his loving family on March 9, 2020. Mike was born on December 23, 1951 in Stuttgart, Germany to Jan (John) and Angela (Matusiewicz) Zamojski. His family moved to the United States when he was 6. Mike grew up in Kalamazoo and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Loy Norrix High School. Mike married the love of his life, Janice Scobey, on November 2, 1974. They had three children and moved to Mattawan in 1979 to raise their family. Mike was employed with Green Bay Packaging for 24 years before retiring. Mike had a passion for bowling and enjoyed playing in several leagues, but his favorite team was the team he was on with his son Mike. Mike's crowning moment during his bowling career was when he received his 700-series patch from American Bowling Congress with a high game of 268. Mike's pastimes included fishing, working on cars, dancing, and watching football and NASCAR while enjoying a cold beverage. Mike never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Hardworking, friendly, and big-hearted, Mike was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Jan Zamojski of Mattawan, MI; Daughter, Laura LaBonte of Otsego, MI; son, Mike Zamojski and daughter-in-law, Kendra of Tallahassee, FL; son, Brian Zamojski, of Mattawan, MI; Sisters, Felicia Bowman of Las Vegas, NV and Jane Schauer of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by grandchildren: Alyssa, Taylor, Brianna, Katie, David, and Alexa and one great-grandchild, Azalea June; sisters-in-law Patty Zamojski, Phyllis (Larry) DenHamer, Marleea Lockhart; brother-in-law, Russ Scobey and several nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Stan Zamojski. A casual Celebration of Life will be held at 29300 Dennis Sweet Drive, Lawton, MI 49065 at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 14.
