Obituary of Wilbert Moore

In loving memory of Pastor Wilbert Moore departed this life on November 19, 2019, at home with his love ones by his side. He was born July 30, 1949 in Okolona Mississippi, The son of Ezekiel Moore and Ida Pearl Gaston Moore. Pastor Wilbert moved to Kalamazoo MI as a child. He received Christ at an early age. He united with St. Marks Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John Buchanan.

He was employed with Tender Care Nursing Home for many years. Pastor Wilbert Moore founded his own church: Holy Missionary Baptist Church in the late 90’s. Saving lives for the Lord was his number one goal. He was a very loving person who loved going fishing and going to parks with family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ezekiel and Ida Pearl Moore, his brother Willie J. Moore and sister Claudine Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife and friend Betty Moore of 55 years, three daughters: Tammie Barnes (Greg), Helen Randle both of Kalamazoo MI and Nicole Moore of Detroit MI. Eight grandkids; Shakeda, Duane, Deonta, Jordan, Tarqik, Andrea all of Kalamazoo MI, Jaydakis and Khalik both of Detroit MI. 7 Great grand-children; one brother; Willie Earl Moore (Stephanie) and one sister; Claudia Mae Johnson both of Kalamazoo MI, Special Aunt Mary Kate Gibson of Kalamazoo MI.

Wilbert had a favorite niece Amy Lynn Moore, a Special niece Kasheemah Johnson, Special God-daughter Karen Corbin and a host of many family and friends. The family wishes to give special thanks to; Greg Brooks, Amy Moore, Jaron White, Sis. Pirley Bracken, Lori Smith, Mary McMillian, Shanna Walker and Corphilia Anderson.
