Obituary of Mark Anthony Harrison
Mark Anthony Harrison was born to the patronage of Edwin Jerome Harrison and Mable Harrison on June 26, 1954, in Gary, IN and a graduate of Westside High School. Pastor Mark Harrison passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the age of 65 at home after a long battle with illness surrounded by his loving family. Mark pastored at Abundant Life-Changing ministry and retired from Edward Rose & Sons and as an R&B entertainer. At an early age, Mark was a natural performer. He traveled the US and opened for various R&B artists until he accepted the calling of ministry. Once he accepted that calling he devoted his life to mentoring and ministering to friends, family and his community. Mark was someone you could always depend on to lend a listening ear and offer a kind word of comfort. Singing is something that was a passion of his even until the end, Mark would always have a song to sing and that exemplified the joy he had in his heart.
Mark was preceded in death by parents Edwin and Mable Harrison, daughter Shawana A. Harrison, Sister Ethel Stribling, and three brothers Frederick, Robert, and Gregory Harrison, Mother-in-law Minnie Lee Woodruff, Father-in-law George Bynum.
Mark leaves to cherish his memories loving wife Gloria Harrison, two sons Mark (LaTasha) Harrison Jr., Mario (Jessica) Harrison both of Merrillville, IN and two daughters Michelle and Megan Harrison both of Kalamazoo, MI, two sisters Emma Sanchez of Kalamazoo, MI and Tracy Harrison of Hammond, IN and special cousin Evangelist Cassandra Davis of Merrillville, IN. He leaves behind two sisters-in-law Kimberly and Monica both of Georgia and five brothers-in-law Cecil, Brutus, Thomas, Anthony, and David Bynum. Mark was a loving and dear grandfather and great grandfather to 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one Godson Jai’Shun Hill. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
