Obituary of Samuel Lee Gordon
Born on May 24, 1964 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He was the son of Jessie W Gordon and Willie Bell (Sturdy) Martin and was preceded in death by his step father, Joseph Martin. Samuel was called home September 11, 2019. He was born in the car on the way to the hospital and this is where his attraction to cars all began. Samuel was known as a self-employed Master Mechanic. When customers called to inquire 110w much it will cost he would reply "Thousand Dollars” picking up he would tell them to come get their Hooptie or take it to LKQ. Known to many as Salty Dogg. His love of cars was evident in the restoration of many cars he tricked out, together with two car clubs he started as the president: Kings of Kazoo and his current club, The 269 Boys. Hard as it was to get him to get from underneath a car, he did enjoy going to car shows and winning multiple trophies. Samuel taught his trade to his sons and would insist they work and repair their own vehicle passing down a valuable skill for self-repair and pride.
Samuels childhood years were spent on Woodberry Street where he still holds lifelong childhood friends from the neighborhood. His regular breakfast spot was Poor Richards. Most of the time the waitress knew him and would get his coffee and a #2. He had a love for ice cream whether it was night or day it did not matter to him. His flair for tailored suits of many colors and Gator shoes topped with a Dobb hat was his signature entrance to the social events accompanied with one of his canes. Walking in and asking, ''Let me hold something.
