Obituary of Norma Jean Anderson
Norma Jean "Cookie" Anderson died peacefully on August 17, 2019, in Kalamazoo Michigan. She was born to George Emerson Sr. and Sylvia Jennings on September 21, 1953, in Charleston Missouri. Cookie moved to Kalamazoo at an early age and graduated in the class of 1971 from Kalamazoo Central High School.
She married Theodore Howard Anderson Sr with children, Theodore Howard Anderson Jr. and, Pamela Joy Anderson in 1980. Cookie gave birth to two sons, Michael Jermaine Anderson Sr. and Anthony Lamar Anderson soon after.
Norma fully retired from Parker Hannifin in 2018 after being medically retired some years prior. She was an active member of Mt. Calvary Christian bible church under Pastor Timothy Ezell until she was physically unable to attend. During her retirement, she authored her first book, "Love, Faith and Obedience. " She also mentored women under the banner, National Christian Woman’s Organization.
Norma Jean Anderson was preceded in death by Father, George Emerson Sr. Survivors include Mother Sylvia Jennings; Uncles Willie Williams and Larry Williams; Aunt Barbara Williams-Martin; Sisters Barbara Jennings and Felicia Burton; Brothers Anthony Emerson and George Emerson Jr; Children Theodore Anderson Sr., Pamela Anderson, Michael Anderson Sr. and Anthony Anderson; Grandchildren Theodore Anderson III, Michael Anderson Jr., Aaron Anderson, Keymaya Anderson, Tremaine Anderson and Ellis Anderson. In addition, many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
