Obituary of Coleman Raven

Coleman Raven was born in Greenville, Mississippi on December 14, 1935, to the late Arthur Raven and Queen Esther Savage.  He made his transition to be with the Lord and love ones in heaven, on July 17, 2019, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI surrounded by his family. Raven proudly graduated from Froebel High School.  His true passion was skating, bowling and attending family and friends events. Raven was loved by many. Raven moved to Gary, Indiana in 1952 to 1994.  He then moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1994 to 2019.  Raven was the owner of Raven’s Tile Company from 1958 to 2004 in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. Raven was preceded in death by his father Arthur Raven, mother Queen Esther Savage Raven Reed, Ethel Raven Stribling, Norma Jean Reed, and Deb Evans. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Roderick Raven, Nicole Myricks, Tawana (Darreyl) Goodwin, Rochelle (Vicent) Raven Holmes, and step-son Scott Evans.  His brother Ernest John Reed, sister Queen Esther Reed Crawford, step-sister Sharice Raven Barnes, Carolyn Raven Morris, grandchildren: Mikol Myricks, Miyoun Barnes, NaKia Raven, Ryan Goodwin, Darryl Goodwin, Jr., Kirk Myricks, Jr., De monté Raven, Taysha Raven, Vincent Holmes, Jr., and Rashad Holmes; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
