Obituary of LaDonna Jean Simpson

LaDonna Jean Simpson transitioned peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the age of 49. She was born on September 12, 1969 to Leroy Simpson Jr. and Carrie Lee Simpson in Kalamazoo, MI.

LaDonna was a believer in Christ. She birthed six children and she was also blessed with ten grandchildren. She attended Kalamazoo Central High School and was employed at Arvco Container Corporation until her illness. LaDonna enjoyed spending time with family, listening to music, dancing, loved to dress and was very stylish.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Gracie Mae Edwards; grandfathers Leroy Simpson Sr. and Alfred Patterson; grandmothers Earlene Simpson and Nola B. Patterson as well as her favorite cousin Michael Jay Dixon Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories six children; DeMario Deshawn Simpson, Nikkita Garrett (Maywan), Kenneth Woodard Jr., Toryano Cooks Jr. and Isaiah Gunn of Kalamazoo, MI and Lazarus Alonte Woodard (Kiarra) of Grand Rapids, MI and ten grandchildren; DeMariana, Sydney, Nielya, King-Nasir, Aa’Vae, Deon, Jaelyn, Alonte, Makhi and Amina; parents Leroy Simpson Jr. (Patricia) and Carrie Lee Simpson (Monty); step-brothers William Demar Abbott Jr. and Jeremy Abbott (Ana) and a host of uncle, aunts, cousins, friends and special cousins Lynora and Kidada Patterson.
