Obituary of Germar Eric Howse, Sr.
Germar Eric Howse Sr., of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away on April 24, 2019. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 18, 1978, to Joann Curry and Wardsworth Howse, Sr., of Chicago, Illinois.
Germar was preceded in death by his mother Joann Curry and his oldest brother Wardsworth (TuTu) Howse, Jr.
Germar had a charm about him that would not be denied. As a young man, he would walk the neighborhood of Chicago. Although few knew his name, everyone knew him. One of the guys in the neighborhood would simply call him Bud, as others heard this, they too would come to call him Bud. The name stuck.
Bud moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan at the age of 13 to be with his loving aunt Vanessa and to attend school. He would later graduate from Loy Norrix High School. He discovered he had a passion for drawing, which he later used this creativity in becoming a skilled barber. At the age of 19, he met the love of his life. Shortly thereafter, she would become his wife.
Bud had a love for astronomy, he could go on for hours about stars and galaxies. However, his true love was for basketball and football. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears. Win or lose, the Bears was the only team he would ever root for. His passion for this team was so real, that most of his apparel reflected his loyalty to the team. Whenever they played, watching the game was the highlight of his day.
Bud loved life, his family and friends dearly. He always wanted to make others laugh or find a way to make them happy. He would intentionally seek out those he cherished to say, I love you.
His love, his smile, his ability to be that guy when you needed an ear will be truly missed.
Germar is survived by his wife Sharleeta Howse; sons: Deontay Carter and Germar Howse, Jr (Lil Bud) and stepson Andre Brown whom he raised as his own; daughters: Jayda and Kayla Howse; brothers: Kevin Curry and Kenneth Howse; sisters: Monique (Kiara) Robinson, Jini (Gaberial-Boogie) Hunt-Robinson; father Wardsworth (Kellie) Howse, Sr.; two friends he loved as brothers: Jarmaine Brown and Dontray Hemphil and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
Germar was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will always be special in everyone’s heart.
