Obituary of George Allen Fields, Jr.

George Allen Fields, Jr. was born to the late George Fields, Sr. and Eula Fields on December 21, 1941 in Clarksdale, MS.  George transitioned on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  George received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi Valley State University and later began his professional career in California as a recruiter and advisor at U.C. Berkley.  He was also a teacher and a building engineer for the city of Memphis, TN.

George was married to Betty Jean Fields.  He had five (5) sisters: Mary Ann Lewis, Celia Hannah, Eula Marie Rendell, Martha Fields Young and Gayle Newman.  He also had four (4) brothers: David Fields (Deceased), Tommy Fields (Deceased), Sterling Fields and Timothy Fields.  He was a father of five (5) children: Courtney Fields Williams, Larry Purnell, George Fields III, Faouly Fields and Georgina Fields.  George was also a grandfather and a friend.
