Obituary of Rosalind Abnet

Rosalind Bowers Abnet, 73, of Galesburg, passed on April 4, 2019 with her husband Dennis and best friend Cheryl Vague by her side.

She was born to parents Theodore Bowers and Margaret Lucille Smith, June 5, 1945 in Kalamazoo, MI and graduated from the Galesburg-Augusta High School in 1963.  

She was preceded in death by sisters Rosemarie Bowers Johnson (Pete) of Kalamazoo, Margaret Bowers of Roswell, GA; and brother Theodore Bowers (Sharon) of Galesburg.  She is survived by her husband Dennis Abnet of Galesburg, son Steve Lambert (Karen) of Richland, granddaughter Blair Woerfel (Marcus) of Oak Park, IL; brothers Jim Bowers of Augusta, Frank Bowers (Joan) of Galesburg, Hank Bowers (Phyllis) of Florida, and her sister Sydney Bowers Booker (Doug) of Lexington, Missouri.

Ros was an accomplished typist and stenographer.  She worked for the Kalamazoo County Court system as a court recorder and judicial assistant, retiring in 2005 after 30 years of service.  She enjoyed many hobbies such as stained glass, crochet, collecting porcelain figurines, spontaneous road trips and especially visiting family and friends.
