Obituary of Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams was born December 5, 1941, in Ullin, IL to the late Jerry and Ira Mae Henderson. Sarah passed on from this life on Friday, February 15, 2019. Sarah was baptized at a young age and raised in the Church of Christ in southern Illinois. She attended Century High School in Ullin, IL but graduated from Old Central High school in Kalamazoo.

Sarah worked as a CNA for many years prior to taking a job at WMU in 1989 and later retired in 2003. Sarah enjoyed reading bible scriptures daily, singing, fishing and crossword puzzles. Sarah loved her family and friends. Her home was always an open door for anyone who was in need and the delight of her life were her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; Daughters Arnita Williams, Tracy (Greg) Santman, Son Mark Williams. Granddaughter Alysha Williams, Grandsons Juwan Williams and Layatte Williams Jr. and Great Granddaughter Heavenly Mae Williams all of Kalamazoo Michigan.

The second oldest in a family of 20 siblings (14 girls and 6 boys) she leaves behind brothers Jerry Henderson (Saint Louis, MO) and Carl Henderson (Hemet, CA). Sisters Bessie (Daniel) Auberry (Carlson, CA), Imogene Johnson (Detroit, MI), Irene (Greg) Harvey (Evanston, IL), Josephine (Harden) Harriston (Fayetteville, GA), Bonnie (Larry) Dedeaux (Diamondhead, MS),  Callie (Albert) Braemer (Rock Island, IL), Betty (Wayman) Foulks (Lincoln, NE), Lorraine (Glen) Cobbs (Kalamazoo, MI), Edna (Charles) Henry (Gulf Port, MS), Menyon (Dazy) Ozomaro (Kalamazoo, MI), Louise Harris (Newman, GA). Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Ira Mae Henderson and Son Alvin Williams. 4 brothers Edwin Henderson, Melvin Henderson, John Henderson and Leroy (Peter) Henderson. 2 sisters Warnella Wells and Mary Jewel Tillman.
