Obituary of Verlon "Bert" Rowe
Verlon “Bert” Rowe passed away on February 9, 2019 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Bert’s life began in Blacky, Kentucky on October 30, 1946. His parents were Doc and Mae Row. His family would eventually move to Detroit, Michigan, then to Marshall, Michigan area and finally to Vicksburg, Michigan were Bert settled.
Bert love to fish, hunt and he loved his family and friends. Bert would look for the good in the people in his life and he would do whatever he could to help them out.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Doc” Rowe, his mother, Mae Watson, his step father, Robert Watson, his sister, Verna L. Craft, his brother, Varon “Pete” Rowe and his longtime life partner, Patricia Alldaffer and several other family members.
Bert is survived by his children and brother which are: Amy (Jay) Sunkes of Amelia, Ohio; Kimmy Rowe (Bryon C. Neusbaum) of Three Rivers, Michigan; Kristina (Louis) Howerton of South Haven, Michigan; Heather (Brian) Silliman of Los Angeles, California, and Mark Rowe of Vicksburg, Michigan; a step-son, Douglas Gigliotti of Florida and his brother, Virgil Rowe of Pierceton, Indiana and a sister-in-law, Pete’s wife Vickie Rowe of Three Rivers, Michigan.
He has 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Bert had several nieces and nephews. Bert also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sarah.
Verlon “Bert” Rowe was cremated at his request. His daughter will have a private graveside service and memorial service in June 2019.
