Obituary of Canetia Marie Smith

Canetia Smith passed away on Friday, January 25 at Borgess  Hospital after several years of fighting with multiple illness.

Canetia was born on May 6, 1959 in Three Rivers, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her parents Bernadine Nickerson, and Arnold Smith, Sr. and her younger brother, Arnold Smith Jr., aunt Diane Givhan, and uncle Harold Richards.

Canetia is survived by one son Denzel Moore, and aunts Coraline Thomas, and Rosie Richards, and several cousins. Special cousins Robert Ellis, Shayanna Allen, and Best Friend Vanessa Darden.

Canetia graduated from Loy Norrix High School, and Western Michigan University. As per her wish, cremation has taken place

Canetia was a strong and proud women, who wanted everyone she knew and cherished, to remember her as pillar of strength, and kindness we all knew and loved.
