Obituary of Ivory Joe Robinson
Ivory Joe Robinson transitioned for labor to reward on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the age of 64. He was born on Wednesday, January 19, 1954, in Sikeston, Missouri to Clara Robinson and John Brandy. His family relocated to Kalamazoo, MI where he attended and graduated from Central High School. Joe was a hard worker, he worked at various different companies like Arvco, Marco (JBS), Steinagel, and Western before he had to retire.
Joe met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Harriett Stewart on Wednesday, February 6, 2002. He truly enjoyed fishing, barbequing as well as eating the barbecue. He also enjoyed singing and watching Western’s. Joe was a warrior, he always kept pressing on even when he was in chronic pain. Joe gave his life to Christ, and he was a member of New Life Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Jesse T. Herron.
Joe leaves to forever cherish his memory, his wife Harriett Robinson; his children: Tonya Robinson of Grand Rapids, MI, Catina Robinson, and Ivory Joe Robinson Stewart both of Kalamazoo, MI.; two step-children: Jackie Stewart, and Georgia Norman both of Kalamazoo, MI.; his sisters: Melinda Lipsey of Atlanta, GA., Shonyell Lipsey, and Donnell Lipsey both of Kalamazoo, MI.; his mother-in-law Rose Stewart; two special friends: Sherrod Brown, and Sarge; his 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Clara Robinson and John Brandy, and his sister Sharlotte Brandy.
Although Joe has departed from this life, he will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
