Obituary of Governor Gilbert Guy, Jr.

Governor G. Guy, Jr. known to many as (T Boy, Big G. Uncle T), of Battle Creek, MI. departed this life on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Governor was born on April 10, 1939 the seventh child of Governor G. Guy, Sr. and Ida (Swanigan) Guy in Wheatley, Arkansas. Governor was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Governor Guy, his brothers, Harvey, Horace Guy Sr., Houston, Robert Willie Sr., Matthew Sr., and sister, Josephine Guy Baldwin; his children, Baby Girl-stillborn, son Gilbert G. Guy, granddaughter Malvona, Anna VanSyckle who was his significant other for aver 20 years. He leaves to cherish his memories special friend Althea McConnell, his children, sons Ricky (Debra) Miller of Newport News, VA., Demetrius (Erica) VanSyckle of Hudson, KS., Christopher and Michael (Jodi) VanSyckle of Battle Creek MI., daughters, Anita Love of Chicago, IL., Malvona Guy, Camille Napilot, Sequret VanSyckle and Evelyn Leon all of Battle Creek, Ml. 30 grandchildren, l5 great-grandchildren. Special nephew/son Willie S. (JD) Guy. Services will be held at New Harvest Christian Center 155 W. Van Buren St. Battle Creek, MI. 49017 on December 8, 2018, Family Hour 11:00 am, Service at 12 noon.  Arrangements entrusted to:
