Obituary of Josephine Moore
Josephine "Josie" Moore was born on September 7, 1936 in Houlka Mississippi to the late Mr. & Mrs. Buddie Thompson Sr. She received her Education through Houlka High. On December 16, 2017 lives would be changed forever when God called her home, "she will be missed but never forgotten". Out of 6 siblings she was the oldest surviving sibling leaving behind 2 lovely brothers and 1 dear sister. She moved to Kalamazoo in the 60's where she found employment through Vermuelens furniture and Holly's restaurant where she would retire. Mother Moore then found, loved, and wedded in Holy Matrimony to the late George Moore.
Mother Moore was a family person, one who loved her family and her church. As life journeyed on, she became a member of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. She served over 43 years during which time she accepted Christ as her personal savior and has been a faithful member under the leadership of the late Rev. Mack Russell and present Pastor Administrative Rudolph Thomas. She loved God and the community in which she served. She is well known by the Black Arts & Cultural, The Kalamazoo County Fair and many other events, where she was cooking and serving wholesome food.
When you hear the word faithful, it exemplifies her life, her family, and the church. Mother Moore was trustworthy, someone that didn't have to know you, but loved you. She loved people and her life proved that. She had dreams and with those dreams came loyalty, dependability, dedication and most of all being steadfast and unmovable.
Mother Moore was devoted to God, a bright worker in the church, she made no fuss about nothing but thanking God for everything and in everything giving thanks because of dedication and obedience to God. she held many auxiliaries throughout the church President of the Prayer and Bible Band, President of the Junior Church, President over the Kitchen, President of the Senior Missionaries, as well as serving on the Mother' Board with many years of dedication as the chair lady for the late Jureatha-Wooden Thomas.
Her life and legacy as a faithful and devoted worker has paid-off and now this is the final chapter. She is absent in the body and present with the Lord.
