Obituary of Jack Evan Mitchell
Jack Evan Mitchell of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. He was born in Kalamazoo on March 24, 1946. The son of Mary & Lewis (Bud) Mitchell.
He served his country in the US Army from 1965 – 1967, serving in the Viet Nam war with an honorable discharge. He was a member of The American Legion Post 36, VFW 827. Jack was united in marriage to Jacqueline Jeffries on June 23, 2015 after 43 years of courtship. From this union he gained 4 step-children. Jack was a retired general laborer. His hobbies included having fun with family and friends, playing bingo, card games, casinos and watching westerns on TV.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Mary Mitchell, Father Lewis (Bud) Mitchell, Mother In-Law Alice Singer, Daughter Jackie Orr, Brother Lewis H. Mitchell, and his Sister Rose M. Mitchell.
Surviving are his wife Jackie, brothers Charles (Marilyn) Mitchell, Terry Lynn Mitchell, sisters Mary Louise Johnson, Brenda (Cordell) Gardner and Cheri (Annie) Pace (Anthony). Four sisters in love Charlotte Williams, Annette Gayle Singer (Bari), Rhonda Hurd and Mignon Vincent. Four grandchildren Renae, Alecia, Billy & Traemell. Four step children Veronica Clopton, Cubit, Patricia and Kevin Jeffries. A very special granddaughter TaNeshia Crenshaw; very special great-granddaughter Ka’Najah (Pooh); great granddaughter Olivia Lewis; special niece Amy Lynn Moore (My Moochie); nieces Montiella Robertson; Shantel Mitchell; Tyra Mitchell; Annissa Pace; Nicole Mitchell; Debby West; special great niece Kendra Moore; great nieces Tasia Hayes; Tacoia Mitchell (Moo Moo); special grandsons Robert (BJ) Jeffries; Leon Clopton, Jr.; Kevin Jeffries, Jr. and Ryan (Clyde) Jeffries; nephews Aaron Gardner; Brian Mitchell and Mark Mitchell. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
