Obituary of Ja'Qurius Willie Alvin Hegler
Ja’Qurius Hegler, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2017 at the age of 15. He was born on November 9, 2001 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Varsale Jackson and Willie Hegler, III. He was attending Kalamazoo Central High School as an 11th grader. Ja’Qurius wanted to become a professional football player.
Ja’Qurius loved his family and friends. He also had a great love for his community. Ja’Qurius was a very joyful child. He was affectionately known as “Qurius, and Quay.” He also had a passion for basketball and graduating. “Qurius” had a special love for his mother. He had a playful spirted personality. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ja’Qurius was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Hegler, Jr. and his great uncle, Jewel Snell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Varsale Jackson; father, Willie Hegler, III; stepfather, DeVon Jackson; 8 brothers: Warren Ezell, Sa’Vion Hegler, Landon Hegler, Vontavion Jackson, Ray’Von Jackson, Sir’Von Jackson, Tayshawn Moore, and Devon Jackson; 6 sisters: Dashameir Hegler, Tahjanae Pritchette, Royalty Jackson, Ariona Campbell, Jerriyah Jackson, and Kastiny Johnson; 3 grandmothers: Alma Clark, Janice Cohn, and Linda Reid; and a host of special aunts (Teia Givhan), uncles, cousins (Jammie Clark, Jameel Britton), and special friends (Curshaya Sheperd).
