Clarence Hadley

Obituary of Clarence William Hadley

Tuesday, July 11, 2017, was the day Clarence William Hadley Jr. left behind his worries and pains and passed from this earth.  He made his exit like he lived his life, his way, on his terms, surrounded by the live of his family and close friends.

When all the stories have been swapped and the experiences shared, the recurring theme is how Clarence could make everyone smile and laugh. Sometimes frustrating, sometimes exasperating, Clarence was genuinely Clarence – no pretenses, no apologies. But when it was all said and done, if you knew him you couldn’t help but love him.

Clarence was born in California, then moved to Michigan as a young boy where he spent the rest of his life, except time spent in Virginia serving in the Navy Reserves.  After returning to the Kalamazoo are, Clarence was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 7, Zone 1 for many years.

Family was the center of Clarence’s world. He leaves a large group behind to remember and celebrate his life.  That group includes his children; Stuart (Judy) Hayner, Jason Hadley, and Leslie Gunderson. His beloved grandchildren; Brittany and Emily Hayner, Kyle, Paige, Lacy and Ella Hadley, and Alexis and Jaiden Gunderson. His very special lifelong friend Rosemary Hadley. Brothers and sisters; David (Debbie) Hadley, Pamela (Harold) Morgan, Stewart Hadley, Dina Hadley, Joyce Moore, Jennifer Vickery, Sara (Joe) Loosier, and Rachel Miller. Also a whole gang of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering to celebrate Clarence and the life he lived is scheduled for September 16, 2017. Details about the gathering will be made available at a later date.
