Obituary of Margaret Catherine Griffin

Margaret (Marnie) O. Griffin, 93, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday evening November 13th 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Marnie lived a long and full life. She was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana but spent the last 30 years living in Kalamazoo. She will be remembered for her quick wit and kind generous heart. Anyone who met Marnie immediately fell in love with her. She was a wonderful friend and always brought her sense of humor to any conversation. Marnie met her husband Harry Patrick Griffin Jr at the University of Indiana. They married in 1950 and had six beautiful children. They moved to Ogden Dunes, Indiana in 1962 to raise their family. She is survived by her siblings, Thomas O'Donnell, Joan Maloney, James O'Donnell, her loving children Meg Griffin, Patrick Griffin, Timothy and Donna Griffin, Daniel and Deborah Griffin, Joan and Raymond Koole as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Margret and Thomas O'Donnell, her sister Rita Baker and her beloved son Michael Griffin. Marnie will be greatly missed but we are fortunate for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts. A Memorial Service is to be held in the Spring of 2022, details to be released.
