Obituary of Bernice Hill

Bernice Hill age 73 of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Bernice was born on January 01, 1948, in Morgan City, Mississippi to the late Mattie Hardy (Brooks) and Willie Williams. Bernice devoted her life to taking care of not only her family, but friends as well. She raised and played an active role in the lives of many. Each bond was different but the love she had for them all was the same. She enjoyed cooking (well known for her sweet potato pies and her homemade dressing), bingo, the casino, shopping, park outings and just spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She has touched countless lives and left lasting memories for everyone to share. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Mattie (Brooks) Hardy and Willie Williams, grandfather Tollie Houston, mother Rosietta Houston, brother in law I.G. McMillian and her grandson, Jhamiel Hill. Bernice loved her family, and her home was always a welcoming place for both family and friends. She will be truly missed by her siblings, Willie James Williams, S.L. Williams, W.C. (Rosie) Williams; Mary (late I.G.) McMillian all of Kalamazoo, MI; Patricia (Patrick) Thomas of Jacksonville, NC; Kenneth Sanders of California; 6 children, Ivory Williams, Iola Williams, James (Shanna) Hill, Julius Hill, Kira Felix, Adryll Matthews all of Kalamazoo, MI; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving other family members and friends.
