Obituary of M.C. White

Mr. M.C. White passed away suddenly at his home in Kalamazoo MI on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. M.C. was born April 21, 1936 in Scotts Mississippi, to George and Adeline White and was the youngest of their 12 children. M.C. excepted Christ at an early age. M.C. was preceded in death by his Parents George and Adeline, siblings: Jerry Coleman, Sampson and Frank White, Henrietta Bradley, Willie Mae Chapman, Martha Thunderbird, Mary Williams, Elnora Woodson, R Mae Dean, and George White, his son Michael Cummings and nephew Danny White. M.C. moved to Kalamazoo MI in the early 1950’s and was employed by Dollahan’s Automotive becoming a skilled Auto Mechanic. After being employed with Dollahan’s, M.C. managed Gulf Service Station owned and operated by his older brother Frank White. Later M.C. worked for Morris Rose and Sears Automotive before becoming self-employed and was one of the best auto mechanics around Kalamazoo. M.C. is survived by his last living sibling Ms. Kate Armstead whom he loved and cherished dearly, his beautiful wife of 38 years Mrs. Betty J. White, he was a Father, Mentor, Pops to James (Barbara) Cummings, Toni (Troy) Fry, Eugenia Atkins all of Kalamazoo, Prentice and Ed Patterson of Phoenix, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends. He had a special bond with his Grandson Terryon Hoskin, Nephews Willie and Terry Dean and Martez White, Sister-in-Law Ms. Willine Walker (RIP). Long time friends Vernell Haynes and Buddy Thompson (RIP Bud Jr.) M.C. was best known for only eating his wife Betty’s fried chicken, his love for pretty cars and his sharp style of dress. M.C. was loved and will truly be missed.
